The Alliance for Care Experienced People in Higher Education is a project currently being developed by care experienced people for care experienced people in Higher Education (HE).
The term ‘care experienced’ people has become a common tag used in the Uk to describe what we in Australia usually call Care Leavers (and some people still call ‘Forgotten Australians’).
There is a hidden presence of care experienced people
- researching,
- working and
- studying
in HE who are eager to support and encourage one another.
This project builds on this, and the aims encompass advocacy, outreach and scholarship for and by the care-experienced community. It has its origins in the UK but a number of Australians are joining up and will contribute.
